Who We Are

Shortly after college, Tyler began his career in construction and gained experience in both commercial and residential. One of the things he enjoyed most was the customer service and relations side of the business, especially when building custom homes. He began to see when he had an established relationship with the client, he understood their vision more fully and was able to execute creatively in order to make their dream a reality.

In 2019, Tyler and Emily decided this epiphany was the beginning of something new. To merge his craft with relationship building only seemed natural. They had dreamed of always creating something of their own– a job that you enjoyed, surrounded by people you enjoyed, a creative outlet that was more than just providing for the family, but would allow them to thrive. The ultimate dream-job. With this, the idea of Latitude Builders began to blossom. The namesake was to always be moving forward, inspired to go your own direction and staying the course. The name became more than just a goal– but a way of life.

In 2019, just a month before their second child was due, Tyler and Emily took the leap that began this new journey. Today, Latitude Builders is a thriving business that is expanding more each year in both sales and team growth.

Tyler Cook

Owner & General Contractor

Born & raised in Eastern North Carolina, Tyler entered the construction industry as a foreman at the age of 16 years old working on various residential projects. It is there Tyler found his passion in watching his hard work come to fruition. Tyler went on to pursue his formal education at East Carolina University graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Construction Management and a minor in business. While at ECU, he completed two internships, one with Bristol industries where he oversaw government projects at Camp Lejune and Xenergy, Inc managing a project at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Post-graduation, Tyler joined Whiting-Turner developing the Southern Pines Village Shopping Center and fell in love with Moore County. He knew this is where he wanted to plant his roots and raise a family. After gaining experience in sales and residential construction over the past 7 years, as well as establishing strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors, he decided it was time to venture out on his own. In January 2019 he officially opened Latitude Builders, LLC to live out his passion for helping you find “your way home.” Tyler is married to his high school sweetheart, Emily, and they have three children, Ava, Beckham, and Shepherd. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family & friends, golfing, and escaping to the coast.

Bret moved around the Southeast after college pursuing various job opportunities but returned to Wilmington, NC where he began working through the construction industry. He quickly moved up through the ranks achieving various Qualifier statuses.

Bret has always loved making things and doesn’t think there is a better feeling than seeing a homeowner step into their completed home. Being with clients from the beginning, through the entire process – is something he truly enjoys.

Bret is happily married to his wife Paige and they have 3 great children who they love raising in the North Carolina area.

Steven Bristol

Steven started his career in the construction business by working in his local community during his high school summer breaks, helping neighbors install trim and cabinetry, developing his specialized skill set at a young age.

He’s built his way up from novice to professional over the course of six years in the construction industry. Over this period, he developed a deep appreciation for the entire home-building process, from the first beam to the last nail. His favorite part of the job? Josh Duplex

For Josh, the construction industry was the bedrock of his family’s remodeling business. He built upon his interest and learned as much about the building process as he could, starting at a very young age.

The fast-paced environment of building neighborhoods enabled Josh to gain experience and helped hone his efficiency by building high-quality homes that people love. These experiences laid a solid foundation for Josh, as he continues to excel in today’s residential home construction market.

Josh graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Legal Studies. He is a Marine Corps Veteran and Purple Heart recipient and currently holds a North Carolina General Contractors License.

Jojo Dwyer

I’m a proud wearer of multiple hats – a military wife, a mom of three adorable humans, and a firm believer in the power of good design. My journey began at High Point University, where I grabbed my BS in Interior Design back in 2012. Armed with creativity and a passion for making spaces pop, I’ve been on a mission to turn houses into homes ever since.

Fast forward to 2014, and I found myself setting down roots in Moore County. It’s more than just a spot on the map – it’s where the heart is, and I’ve happily adopted it as my forever home.

When I’m not wrangling little ones or designing, you’ll find me soaking up moments with my family, whipping up something delicious in the kitchen, reading a great book, or enjoying all things home decor.

I truly believe that the atmosphere of a home can bring life and happiness into the space and I can not wait to design with you.
